About the Firm: Public Ink is a consulting group that creates content, multimedia products, and technical assistance projects for public and private sector clients.  Public Ink has over a quarter century experience creating countless reports, studies, and videos for nearly 100 clients.  Our content knowledge spans health, human services and science.

We are public policy and program experts, focused project managers, skilled writers, creative producers, and communicators. Public Ink gets the work done by taking on all the behind the scenes tasks to organize, think, plan, write, solve the problem and create the product. Then we help you get the word out through published reports, videos, multimedia, teleconferences, and the Web.

Principal: Public Ink’s principal is Alan Gambrell, who has over 26 years of experience providing technical assistance, program analysis, writing/editing, communications, and organizational development to over 15 federal U.S. agencies and dozens of states, local governments, nonprofit agencies, and national associations. He has written, edited, and produced over 90 studies, including analyses of health cost and delivery issues, evaluations, needs assessments, reports, national treatment guidelines, and technical assistance documents for health care agencies.

Prior to undertaking a career as an independent consultant (1992-Present), Gambrell served as Assistant Executive Director of the U.S. Conference of Local Health Officers and was editor for Health Publications at the U.S. Conference of Mayors.
